Citizen Complaints lead to drug investigation, arrests.

Smyrna PD investigators acting on the complaints of residents initiated a drug investigation into Mario Henry, 47, of Smyrna, and Tyrone Harris, 39 of Smyrna. On Friday, August 4th in the early morning hours, the Smyrna Police Department’s SWAT team executed a search and seizure warrant in the 600 block of Red Timber Lane. Mr. Henry and Mr. Harris were both taken into custody without incident. A search of the residence led to detectives seizing approximately 36 grams of fentanyl and 49 oxycodone pills. Investigators also located 2 illegal firearms inside of the residence. When Mr. Henry was taken into custody, he was found in possession of 4.8 grams of crack cocaine. Both suspects were presented to Justice of the Peace Court #2 via videophone and committed to the Department of Corrections in lieu of bond pending a future hearing. Their respective charges are the following;

Mario Henry: Maintaining a drug property, Tampering with physical evidence, Conspiracy 2nd, Possession of a controlled substance, Possession of drug paraphernalia ($2,200 secured bond)


Tyrone Harris: Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, 2 counts of Possession with intent to distribute, Possession of a controlled substance in a tier 3 quantity, Possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, Possession of a controlled substance in tier 2 quantity, maintaining a drug property, Tampering with evidence, Conspiracy 2nd, Possession of drug paraphernalia ($87,700 cash bond)

Smyrna Police were assisted in this case by the Dover Police Department and Kent County Paramedics.
