Smyrna PD Investigating Crash with Electric Scooter

The Smyrna Police Department is actively investigating a motor vehicle crash involving an electric scooter.
On July 30, 2026, at approximately 9:21 p.m., a Toyota Camry was traveling northbound on Streamside Circle within the Christina Apartments Development. At the same time, a 15-year-old male, riding an electric scooter, was traveling southbound on Streamside Circle.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the scooter continued South through the intersection and was struck head-on by the Toyota Camry, which was making a left-hand turn back onto Streamside Circle.
The 15-year-old male of Smyrna, DE was flown to an area hospital, where he is being treated for his injuries.
The driver of the Toyota, a 23-year-old female from Smyrna, DE, was not injured.
