Two Incidents Lead to the Arrest of Smyrna High School Students

On January 14, 2026, two students attending Smyrna High School were contacted separately by the Smyrna Police Department's School Resource Officer and found to be in possession of a knife.
Both students were immediately removed from the school, and it was deemed that no one was harmed as a result of these separate incidents.
The students, identified as 17-year-old males from Smyrna, DE, were charged with the crime listed below and released pending a future court date. All suspects are presumed innocent until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
