Smyrna Police arrest suspect wanted for an unreported shooting.

Smyrna Police detectives, with the assistance of Dover Police and members of the US Marshals First State fugitive task force, arrested a man wanted by both agencies. During the month of December 2022, SPD investigators learned of a shooting incident that occurred in the area of the Smyrna Municipal Park in June of 2022. This incident was previously unreported to law enforcement. No one was injured in this incident. Detectives identified Mr. Reeves as a suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest. SPD detectives and Dover PD were also able to link Mr. Reeves to firearms offenses occurring in the city of Dover. In the morning hours of 2/1/23, law enforcement took Wyatt Reeves, 18 into custody without incident at a residence in the 900 block of Tobacco Rd, Camden, DE. He was transported to SPD where he was arraigned via video court in JP #2 on the following charges:

Smyrna Police:

-Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony

-Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited

-Reckless Endangering First Degree

Dover PD:

-Theft of a Firearm(2x)

-Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited(2x)

-Conspiracy Second Degree(2x)
