Smyrna PD Arrests Two in Shots-Fired Incident

Smyrna Police detectives have arrested a Smyrna man and a juvenile for the shooting incident that occurred on Saturday, September 20, 2025. Through investigation, detectives identified Damir Carter, 18, of Smyrna, DE, and a 17-year-old juvenile from Smyrna, DE, as the suspects involved. On Friday, September 26, 2025, both suspects were taken into custody by SPD without incident. During the investigation, detectives also executed two residential search and seizure warrants, at which time the alleged firearm from this incident was recovered. The firearm recovered was also found to have an obliterated serial number. The suspects were taken to SPD, where they were charged with the crimes listed below. Mr. Carter was arraigned via video court in JP#2, where he was committed to the Department of Corrections in lieu of $29,000.00 cash bail pending a future court hearing. The juvenile was arraigned via JP#7 and released upon posting a $99,000.00 secured bail pending a future court hearing. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

· Assault Third Degree
· Criminal Mischief over $1,000.00 (3 Counts)
