SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICERS

The School Resource Officer (SRO) program is a partnership between the Smyrna Police Department and the Smyrna School District. Two officers are currently assigned to this unit, one fully assigned to the Smyrna High School and the other is responsible for the Youth Aid at the Smyrna Middle School, JBM Intermediate School and the three elementary schools in our jurisdiction. SROs regularly teach various classes regarding health and safety issues. In addition to patrolling the school grounds and attending after school functions, such as sports events and student dances, all SRO’s are involved in extracurricular events throughout the year. The events are held in different locations in the town and are focused on positive interaction with children and teenagers. The SRO’s strive to build and maintain a positive rapport with all of the students in the Smyrna School District and the children that reside in our community.  The SRO’s report to the Special Services Commander, Lieutenant Brian Donner.

SRO’s:
